AVX Modification Technology
AVX Aircraft Company has developed and has patented a unique compound helicopter configuration with coaxial rotors and dual ducted fans that can be used to modify existing fleets of helicopters such as the U.S. Army OH-58D Kiowa Warrior fleet to provide greater aerodynamic efficiency, speed, range, 20-30% increase in fuel efficiency, ability to operate at higher altitudes and hotter temperatures (6K/95 degrees), HOGE and utility than conventional helicopters such as the OH-58D. The AVX Aircraft OH-58D performance upgrade, designated the OH-58D/AVX, replaces the current OH-58D main rotor, drive system and tailboom/tail rotor with new AVX components. This modification to the OH-58D with AVX Technology will provide the U.S. Army with the lowest cost upgrade solution while exceeding all of the Army’s Key Performance Parameters.
AVX New Aircraft
AVX Technology can be used to modify existing fleets of helicopters at a very low cost, and can be used to design and manufacture completely new helicopters. In both cases, AVX Technology combines proven technologies to achieve greater aerodynamic efficiency, speed, range, fuel efficiency, HOGE, utility and the ability to operate at higher altitudes and in hotter temperatures than conventional helicopters. The key technical features of the configuration are Counter Rotating Coaxial Rotors and Dual Ducted Fans. AVX is working on several new aircraft programs including the U.S. Army Joint Multi Role helicopter under a CTA contract with the U.S. Army.
